Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 10 September 2026

This website is operated by Arthur's Watches LTD, trading as Arthur's Watches. Throughout these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Arthur's Watches LTD.

These terms apply to your use of arthurs-watches.com and to every order placed through it.

By placing an order you agree to these terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Delivery Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

2. Who can order

You must be 18 or over to place an order, or have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

An account isn't required — guest checkout is available. If you create one, keeping your login details secure is your responsibility.

You agree to provide accurate billing, payment and delivery details, and to notify us promptly of any error in the information you've given.

You may not use the site for unlawful purposes, infringe intellectual property rights, or transmit viruses or other harmful code.

Where we reasonably believe these terms have been seriously breached, we may restrict access. Orders already accepted will still be fulfilled.

3. Our products

We describe each watch as fully and accurately as we can, including case size, movement type, materials, water resistance rating and what's included in the box.

Images are a truthful representation of the products we sell. Colour and finish can appear differently depending on your screen, lighting and device, and dial or strap tones may vary slightly between production batches.

Obvious errors in a description or price aren't binding on us. Where one affects your order, we'll contact you and you may proceed at the corrected price or cancel that item for a full refund.

Products are offered subject to availability. Where a product becomes unavailable after you order, we'll contact you and offer a replacement of similar quality and price, or a full refund — your choice.

4. Water resistance

Water resistance ratings describe pressure tested under laboratory conditions. They are not depth ratings, and they aren't permanent.

As a general guide:

Rating What it means in practice
30m / 3 ATM Splashes and rain. Not swimming, not showering.
50m / 5 ATM Brief immersion. Not swimming laps, not diving.
100m / 10 ATM Swimming and snorkelling. Not diving.
200m / 20 ATM and above Suitable for diving where the watch is specified for it.

Water resistance depends on intact gaskets and a properly closed crown. Seals degrade with age, heat and impact, and a watch that was water resistant when new may not remain so.

Never operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet, and avoid hot water, saunas and rapid temperature changes.

Water damage caused by use beyond the stated rating, or by an unsecured crown, isn't a manufacturing fault.

5. Hallmarking and materials

Watches containing gold, silver, platinum or palladium above the statutory weight thresholds are hallmarked in accordance with the Hallmarking Act 1973.

Where a case, bracelet or component is plated, we state the plating type and, where the manufacturer provides it, the thickness. Plating wears with use — that's expected and isn't a fault, though we'll always tell you what a piece is before you buy it.

Descriptions such as "gold-tone", "rose gold-tone" or "steel with gold PVD" refer to finish, not to solid precious metal.

6. Prices

All prices are shown in pounds sterling and include VAT at 20%. The total displayed at checkout is the total you pay — no customs charges, no import VAT, no handling fees, and nothing collected on delivery.

The price that applies is the one shown when you place your order, as confirmed in your order confirmation. Later price changes don't affect orders we've already accepted.

Where a price is reduced, any "was" price shown is a price at which the item was genuinely offered for a reasonable period.

7. Orders and contract formation

Submitting an order is an offer to buy. You'll receive an automated acknowledgement confirming we've received it — that isn't acceptance.

The contract is formed when we confirm that your order has been dispatched.

We may decline or cancel an order where the item is unavailable, payment can't be authorised, we've identified an obvious pricing or description error, or we reasonably suspect fraud. Where payment has been taken and we cancel, we refund in full.

Cancelling before dispatch is free of charge. Email us with your order number as soon as you can.

8. Payment

Payment is taken when you place your order, using the methods shown at checkout.

Payments are processed by a PCI-DSS compliant provider, and we don't store your complete card details.

Orders may be subject to reasonable verification checks. If a payment is declined or reversed, we may cancel the order.

Where payment fails after an order is placed, we may charge reasonable costs of recovery permitted by law.

9. Delivery

Processing and delivery timeframes are set out in our Delivery Policy, which forms part of these terms.

Risk of loss or damage remains with us until the goods come into your physical possession — or that of someone you've identified to receive them.

If your order arrives damaged or doesn't arrive at all, contact us and we'll open the investigation with the courier ourselves.

Unless a different period has been agreed, we deliver within 30 days. Where we can't, we'll contact you and you may cancel without penalty; we refund within 14 days of cancellation.

10. Your right to cancel

As a consumer you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, beginning the day after you receive the goods.

We voluntarily extend this to 30 days. No reason is required.

This right applies to sale items on exactly the same terms as full-price ones.

How to cancel

  1. Email support@arthurs-watches.com with your order number, or use the form in section 11
  2. We reply within 2 working days with the return address and a reference
  3. Send the goods back within 14 days of telling us, with all supplied accessories, links, boxes and documentation

Condition of the goods

You may examine and handle a watch as you would in a shop — try it on, set the time, check the fit.

Sizing a bracelet by removing links doesn't affect your right to cancel, provided the removed links are returned with the watch.

Where handling goes beyond reasonable examination — wearing the watch outdoors, scratching the case or glass, or using it in water — the value may be reduced, and we may make a proportionate deduction. We won't refuse the return on that basis.

Refunds

We refund the full amount — including the standard delivery cost — within 14 days of receiving the goods back, or of you providing evidence they were sent.

Return postage is yours where you've changed your mind; ours where the watch is faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied.

We recommend a tracked and insured service for the return. Full details are in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

11. Model cancellation form

Complete this only if you wish to exercise your statutory right to cancel. An email works just as well.

To: Arthur's Watches LTD, 220 Buchanan Street, Glasgow G1 2FF, United Kingdom support@arthurs-watches.com

I hereby give notice that I cancel my contract of sale for the following goods:

________________________________________

Ordered on: ______________ Received on: ______________ Order number: ______________

Consumer's name: ______________________ Consumer's address: ______________________

Signature: ______________________ (only if sent on paper)

Date: ______________

12. When the right to cancel doesn't apply

The statutory right to cancel doesn't apply to:

  • Watches engraved, personalised or made to your specification
  • Goods sealed for hygiene reasons where the seal has been broken
  • Goods whose price depends on fluctuations in the precious metals market that we cannot control

An exclusion applies only where we've stated it clearly on the product page before you buy.

Not sure whether an item qualifies? Ask us before ordering.

13. Faulty or misdescribed goods

Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described.

Where they aren't, you have a 30-day right to reject for a full refund. After 30 days you may ask for a repair or replacement; where that fails or isn't possible, you may claim a price reduction or a final right to reject.

In Scotland these rights may be pursued for up to five years from the date you became aware, or could reasonably have become aware, of the fault.

Any manufacturer's warranty is additional protection and never replaces these rights. Where a watch carries a manufacturer's warranty, the terms and duration are stated on the product page and the paperwork is supplied with the watch.

A defect resulting from improper use, servicing by an unauthorised repairer, impact damage, or water exposure beyond the stated rating isn't covered.

Contact us at support@arthurs-watches.com with your order number and photographs where possible. Where a claim is upheld, we cover the postage.

14. Battery, servicing and normal wear

Quartz watches are supplied with a working battery. A battery is a consumable — its life depends on the movement and use, and replacement isn't a warranty matter.

Mechanical watches keep time within the tolerance stated by the manufacturer. Variation within that tolerance isn't a fault.

Strap wear, bracelet stretch, plating wear and light surface marks from ordinary use are normal and not defects.

15. Complaints and dispute resolution

If something goes wrong, contact us at support@arthurs-watches.com. We respond within 2 working days and aim to resolve complaints within 14 days.

Where we can't resolve a complaint to your satisfaction, you may be able to refer it to an alternative dispute resolution provider. We are not currently a member of an ADR scheme.

That doesn't affect your right to bring a claim through the courts, or to seek free advice from Advice Direct Scotland (consumeradvice.scot, 0808 164 6000).

16. Intellectual property

All content on this site — the Arthur's Watches name, logo, product photography, graphics, text and site design — belongs to Arthur's Watches LTD or its licensors.

You may use the site for personal, non-commercial purposes. Reproducing, distributing, modifying or commercially exploiting the content requires our written permission.

17. Reviews and submissions

You retain ownership of what you submit. By sending us reviews, photographs or comments, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, edit and publish that material.

Your content must be your own or shared with permission, based on genuine experience, and must not be unlawful, misleading, defamatory or infringing.

We may remove content that breaches these terms.

18. Personal information and cookies

Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Non-essential cookies are set only with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

19. Website availability

We aim to keep the site available, but can't guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, technical faults and circumstances outside our control may cause interruptions.

Nothing in this section affects an order we've already accepted.

20. Our responsibility to you

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so — including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for breach of your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, and for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Where we fail to comply with these terms, we're responsible for loss or damage that is a foreseeable result of our breach. We're not responsible for loss that isn't foreseeable.

Our total liability arising from any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Our products are supplied for personal use. Where it may lawfully be excluded, we're not responsible for business losses.

21. General

If any provision of these terms is found unlawful or unenforceable, it will be replaced by a provision that comes closest to the original intention, and the remainder continues in full force.

Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver of it.

Additional or differing provisions may not be to your detriment as a consumer, and must be recorded in a form you can store.

These terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Delivery Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy, form the entire agreement between you and Arthur's Watches LTD.

22. Changes to these terms

The current version is always available on this page with the date above.

Changes don't apply retroactively to orders we've already accepted.

23. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any contract made through our website, are governed by the law of Scotland, and disputes will be brought before the Scottish courts.

If you live in England, Wales or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.

Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory consumer protection available to you under UK law.
